Here is the most recent version of the "Bonk's Revenge Cheat Sheet." As always, please send any corrections or additions to bt@cpac.washington.edu Also, if there is a part which doesn't make sense to you, let me know so that it can be rewritten, or better yet rewrite it yourself (of course, this could be difficult to do if you didn't understand it in the first place). GENERAL INFO: o At most signs (levels, falling rocks, etc) there are "super foods" worth 1000 pts. These foods also appear at other spots on each level, and are fairly easy to figure out where they are. The super food for each level is indicated in parens after the level name. In some cases, specific spots where super food may be found are indicated. o Things that make you loose the propeller seed: Going into water Getting hit Finishing the level A good way to bonk opponents while you have the prop seed is to hover above them, then tap the bonk button (number II) send you head first to the ground. With several opponents, you can get the timing down to do this like clockwork. o GreenFlorets are not mentioned in the documentation, but there are a few around (through "bonking"). When activated, these will give a blue heart. o Each level end boss is included, complete with how many "hits" it takes to destroy him. (remember, that a spinning bonk is worth 2 hits) These are as acurate as I can get them, but it's hard to keep *perfect* count when you're in the heat of battle, so they may be off by 1 or 2. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF HEARTS: Eight. Any additional ones are silently ignored. LEVEL ONE o Water Fall (flower) -Bonk the first RedFloret->BlueFloret, giving a 1UP -Bonk the second RedFloret->YellowFloret, super jump to Bonus Level #1 -Bonk the third RedFloret->YellowFloret, super jump to 2 smileys o Flower Field (flower) -On the second rock, bonk the first RedFloret->YellowFloret, super jump into the clouds for 2 smileys and Bonus Level #6 -The last RedFloret before the water (it has flowers above it) can be bonked to an OrangeFloret, producing a propeller seed. -There are 2 smileys in the upper left hand corner of the screen, use the propeller seed to get them. o Caverns (sandwich) -Hidden level is above the rest of the playing field, including: Hidden Big Meat behind the second green pillar 3 smileys at the end of the hidden passageway a 1UP in the middle (beneath 4 rocks). [and again, unsure of the best way to get the stuff]. o Mammoth Tomb -Hidden level above the regular playing field requires a triangle jump to get to. It contains: Bonus Level #4 Big Meat -the three smileys before "stone falcons" can be gotten by bonking the RedFloret->YellowFloret -1 up: In between two glaciers on the lower floor (must use the triangle jump to get out). o END BOSS: Ice Ballerina, 10 hits LEVEL FOUR o Parasol Beach (sand pail) -whenever there are three ice creams stacked atop one another, a surfing chikkun isn't far away. -Bonus Level #7 is underneath one of the tables. o Warship Hold (part 1) -Destroy all of the crates for a hidden 1UP (note that it is either here, or in part 2 - see below - Just keep destroying the crates until nothing else comes out). -On deck (to the far left) is Bonus Level #3 -Underneath the "GO!" sign (end of level) is Bonus Level #1 o Warship Hold (part 2) -If a 1UP didn't appear in the first set of crates, then there will be one hidden in this set. -Floret at the top (immediately after the crates) can be bonked, RedFloret->OrangeFloret->BlueFloret->GreenFloret. You can tell these chimneys apart from the other ones by two features, 1. You stand behind the smoke stacks. 2. There are "windows" beneath the chimney. (if you are confused by this, the "second" chimney is a breakable one. if you are still confused, just keep bonking chimneys until one breaks, and you'll understand). -The second hidden room has a propeller seed. Use it to get to the cloud layer which contains (from right to left): Bonus Train #1 (1 blue heart, 1 big heart) Bonus Train #2 (5 hearts, 1UP) -The third hidden room has a BlueFloret in it. o Haunted Tower -There are two hidden areas, one on the left and one on the right. Available, 1 smiley for every 2 hatchets destroyed. #3 "Collect items, Avoid fireballs" - 5 platforms are available to stand on while you try to collect fruit and smileys, without having a fireball knock you into another one of those bottomless pits. You have 15 seconds. #5 "Grab Items, Jump and Spin" - a large tower is adorned with fruit and smileys (arranged in a zig zag fashion) - control Bonk to gather as much as possible. The longer you're out of water, the more inclined the fish are to bail out. 1 smiley awarded for each piranha. END LEVEL MONSTER TRAINS: 0 (Bonk's!) [nothing.] 10 (!!) o 1 heart o 1 small meat 20 ([peace sign]) o 3 hearts o 1UP 30 (Good) o 3 hearts o 1 blue heart 50 (Perfect) o 5 hearts o 1 blue heart o 1 small meat o 1UP END BOSS STRATEGIES: #1 Dodogie: After the fireballs start coming down, and he is getting ready to stick out his head and tail, jump onto his back, and position yourself directly behind his head. Bonk Repeatedly. #2 Keep in the air and spinning (try to avoid the "freeze bubbles" as much as possible) #3 While the ballerina is spinning stay at the far side of the screen, and bonk the snowballs as they fall toward you. Then when she starts to "dance", jump and do a spinning bonk on her. Return to either side of the screen and repeat. #4 Time it so that you are in the air when the boss comes out. If he is directly below you, start spinning, else land and do a spinning bonk toward him. As for the second half (when he returns on his, uh, boat) try to get as many hits in before the missiles start. Keep your fingers crossed and avoid the fireball at all costs. #6 Run back and forth, when the bird stops, he will try to get you, move so that he doesn't, then do a spinning bonk on his head. After three of these, his head will change, and his "hands" will start to come after you. Bonk each hand as soon as possible so that you may continue the same strategy (as without the hands coming after you). #7 Evil King Drool III will sit atop his pyrimid and shower you with scads of bad things to avoid. After a short while of this, he will move off screen to either the left or right, when he does so, move to the block that is opposite which direction he went (if he goes left, get on the right-side block). When he charges you do a spinning bonk toward him (and the other block) - you need to strike the crown. After he charges you a second time (from the other direction), he will return atop the pyramid to shower you with evils, again. Repeat. .. SECRET WARP: o If you get over 50 smileys on any level, you skip the next level. (This is one reason why there are no smileys available on level 6, you can't very well skip the ending boss level, now can you?)
